The 200 acres of land in Mysuru would be used for the Brindavan Gardens upgrade project, according to Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar

Guidelines created to modernize Brindavan Gardens while maintaining its historical significance; the government has set out ₹2,000 crore for the project.

During his visit to the Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) dam in the Mandya district on August 9, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar reaffirmed that improving Brindavan Gardens will increase tourism and contribute to job creation.

200 acres of land are available for the purpose, Mr. Shivakumar stated in remarks to journalists at KRS. A section of the area will remain undeveloped to ensure the safety and security of the dam. He continued, “The project will be built on the remaining portion of the land.”

This will help produce tens of thousands of jobs in the future. The route will be converted to a four-lane highway in preparation for an increase in the number of tourists using it. Mr. Shivakumar stated, “Aside from this, drinking water supply and drainage system will be ensured in order to draw more tourists to Brindavan Gardens and Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary.”

For the project, the government has set aside ₹2,000 crore. A set of guidelines for modernizing Brindavan Gardens without sacrificing its historical significance has been created. The dam won’t be in any risk. Conversely, in addition to boosting economic development, its reputation will be further improved, Mr. Shivakumar continued.

The plan to renovate Brindavan Gardens will include the planned Cauvery Aarti, which would be held in accordance with the Ganga Aarti in Uttar Pradesh. Mr. Shivakumar stated, “A suitable location for the aarti would be identified.”

Update on Mysugar factory

The Deputy Chief Minister discussed the best ways to grow the famed Mysugar Factory while making sure it achieved financial stability with Mandya district leaders.

Mr. Shivakumar stated, “There have been discussions with the technical committee on whether new machinery and facilities could be created in the existing factory, or if a new unit should be established.”

Our long-term goal is to increase the factory’s daily sugarcane crushing capacity from 5,000 tonnes to 10,000 tonnes. Before the unit is extended, the technical committee has recommended that measures be taken to guarantee that it runs to its maximum potential,” he continued.

According to Mr. Shivakumar, maintaining a consistent supply of sugarcane is more important than expanding the factory’s capacity. He emphasized how important it was for the sugar factory to become financially self-sufficient. “The district has five other sugar mills besides Mysugar; all of them need to be made sustainable,” Mr. Shivakumar stated.

Citing comments from the officials, Mr. Shivakumar said that due to drought and agricultural misery, a considerable number of farmers have stopped sugarcane cultivation. They are searching for substitute crops, but 2,000 farmers are eager to start growing sugarcane. Mr. Shivakumar continued, “It was crucial that farmers receive a fair price for the product they cultivate.

He was accompanied by Minister for Agriculture N. Cheluvarayaswamy and MLA P. Ravikumar.
